The Victorian Government Pavilion was a hub of activity with around sixty of Victoria’s most prominent defence industry represented.

During the running of the 2025 Melbourne Cup, the Victorian Government Pavilion became the go to destination for literally hundreds of delegates.

Day One

The lines of delegates to enter was a clear sign of the considerable attendance.

The 2025 IndoPacific attendance made this event the biggest IndoPacific ever held.

Day Two

A terrific opportunity to gather information on a variety of programs with a sharp focus upon AUKUS and industry engagement.

The Victorian Government delegation breakfast kicked off Day Two.

Senior Navy brass, politicians, Defence Industry Council members and many leading Victorian SME’s were present. The team at VicGov are doing a great job supporting us.

A terrific presentation by Defence Teaming Centre, hosted by DTC’s CEO Libby Day, showcased the US State of Virginia, was a highlight. The depth and breadth of capabilities in Virginia was impressive. The invitation to harness this significant US industrial centre at Hampton Roads was made several times to Australian manufacturers – opportunities to access significant uplift.

Panel discussion at Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition

The Hampton Roads Alliance is the leading public–private economic development organisation for the Hampton Roads region of southeastern Virginia, representing ~15 localities and coordinating business attraction, expansion and high-wage job growth across key sectors including defence, maritime, logistics and energy. It convenes industry, government and academia, most recently launching a regional “Hampton Roads Playbook” (29 Oct 2025) to align partners on sites, talent and resiliency.

The Alliance is deepening Australia–U.S. ties under AUKUS—hosting South Australian delegations and helping broker workforce and shipbuilding training links (e.g., South Metropolitan TAFE ↔ Hampton Roads Workforce Council)—to open two-way supply-chain and investment pathways for defence and shipbuilding firms.

Blueforge Alliance Panel discussion at Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition 2025

The BlueForge Alliance and the defence industrial uplift

This educative session focused on how not-for-profits can work as additive support to defence capability and the industrial base. The discussion will highlight the distinct value proposition of not-for-profits as strategic partners in national maritime capability eco-systems, lessons learned from BlueForge Alliance’s experiences in the United States, the vision for BlueForge Alliance Australia and how the not-for-profit model can be used in Australia to support all stakeholders.

Day Three

At a large scale three day event like IndoPacific, you can really take the time to learn and share information, build relationships, compare roadmaps, and turn conversations into deeper understanding, capability, connections

That’s a wrap! The Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition (4–6 Nov, 2025 ICC Sydney) was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, customers, suppliers, prospects, primes, SMEs, and Defence.
